From assisting with life-threatening crises to delivering babies, and caring for people with disabilities and children with medical conditions, nurses perform some of the most difficult tasks in the medical world. As workers who perform the most essential healthcare tasks, nurses serve as the first point of contact for most people.
National Nurses Week honors their contributions and reminds us to thank the medical professionals who keep us healthy. It is celebrated between May 6, National Nurses Day, and May 12.
Here are a few ways to celebrate:
Write a thank-you note
Take some time out of your day to pen a sweet message to let them know you appreciate their efforts and sacrifice.
Show your support
Repost your favorite nurse on your social media to spread the word about their heroic actions day in and day out.
Surprise them with gifts
Nurses work long hard hours and deserve a nice relaxing gift. If you have the means to do so, provide them with a nice meal or massage session.
