Get Involved

There are numerous ways to get involved and become an ally for people with disabilities and medical conditions. See how you can make an impact with Momentum.

Planned Giving

Your Act of Generosity, Our Longevity

Your planned gift to Momentum will have meaning and impact for years to come. We honor those who have made a lasting commitment by including charitable gifts to Momentum in their estate plans.

Those who remember Momentum in a will, trust, designation or other planned gift, are invited to join the Legacy Society. Too often, these gifts are unrecognized because they come at the end of the donors’ lives. The Legacy Society provides a way to recognize and thank a very special group of people during their lifetimes who desire to create a lasting legacy of hope by including Momentum in their estate planning.

Commitment to the Legacy Society gives you the opportunity to enjoy the company of others who, like yourself, care about leaving a legacy to protect and strengthen this community. Members receive a Legacy Society commemorative pin, recognition on the Momentum donor wall, recognition in publications and on our website.

Volunteer With Us

We are offering in-person volunteer opportunities and we would love for you to join us.

Over 75 years ago, a small group of dedicated parents and volunteers established the organization that is known today as Momentum in order to provide community-based services for their loved ones. Momentum remains true to our founding mission of advancing the independence, productivity and full citizenship of all people. Since our founding, committed volunteers have been essential to the inclusion, awareness and fundraising activities that help Momentum advance the independence of people. We welcome the opportunity to have members of our community volunteer at our organization.

Advocacy

Advocacy efforts play a pivotal role in shaping the world we live in, particularly for marginalized and underrepresented communities. Momentum recognizes the pressing need to advocate for children and adults with disabilities, ensuring that their voices are heard, rights are protected, and opportunities are maximized. By joining Momentum’s advocacy efforts, individuals can actively contribute to a more inclusive society that values and supports individuals with disabilities. Through advocacy, we can foster awareness, challenge stereotypes, promote equal access to education, healthcare, and employment, and advocate for policies that prioritize the well-being and empowerment of those with disabilities. By becoming advocates, we can collectively dismantle barriers, promote social justice, and create a world where every individual, regardless of their abilities, can thrive and reach their full potential. Together, we can make a lasting impact and build a society that embraces diversity and inclusivity at its core. Sign up to receive our monthly advocacy newsletter. Or make your voice heard here.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsoring Momentum events provides you the unique opportunity to strategically connect with the community, further your corporate philanthropy mission, build brand awareness, engage employees and demonstrate your company’s support of an important cause!

Our numerous events reach key audience segments and provides a fun, entertaining and engaging way for you to “wow” clients, vendors and employees. Feel good about supporting some of the most vulnerable and at-risk members of our community.

Strategic sponsorship packages are available, or a specialized package can be created to optimize your exposure at multiple events throughout the year.

Resources

Finding resources for a loved one with a disability or medical condition can be a challenging yet crucial task. Fortunately, there are various avenues available to assist in this process. One valuable resource is Self-Determination Services (SDP), which empowers individuals and their families by providing them with increased freedom, control, and responsibility in selecting services and supports that align with their unique goals and needs. SDP allows individuals to tailor their support systems, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance while maintaining their autonomy and self-determination. By exploring SDP and other resources, families can access a wealth of information, support networks, specialized programs, and funding opportunities designed to enhance the quality of life for their loved ones with disabilities or medical conditions. With these resources at hand, families can navigate the often complex landscape of care provision, enabling their loved ones to thrive and live fulfilling lives. Momentum also works closely with regional centers to help guide the process for finding the best choice for you or a loved one.
