Q:What therapy programs were you a part of at Momentum?
A: At MPTN, I was a part of the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) program and Buddy Club.
Q:What did you most enjoy about your time at Momentum?
A: I enjoyed the mentorship opportunities and being able to be a part of different programs. I was able to be a part of programs for early intervention and social skills. It made my experience here at MPTN well-rounded and gave me the opportunity to work with children of different age groups. I was constantly learning during my time at MPTN which helped me build my Occupational Therapy toolbox that I will use for the future. I also had the opportunity to work with so many Occupational Therapists and collaborate with Speech and PT. This allowed me to learn from so many people and brainstorm on different ways I would approach my treatment plans. I am grateful for the time I have had at MPTN and will miss the staff and children I worked with!
Q:Why did you choose to become an Occupational Therapist?
A: I chose to become an Occupational Therapy because I wanted to help others in their daily life. I loved that Occupational Therapists were creative in the ways they helped their clients with their daily tasks. I think that it is important to help people participate in activities that are meaningful and important to them.
Q:What are your next steps after Momentum?
A: After my Level II fieldwork at MPTN, I will be doing my Capstone project during the summer on the importance of hair care in Occupational Therapy, then graduate in August.
Q:What are your long-term goals as an Occupational Therapist?
A: Currently, my long-term goals as an Occupational Therapist are to get my first job as a licensed Occupational Therapist and become SWC certified.
