Return of Camp Escapades Welcomes Kids of All Abilities

Camp Escapades returned to Rolling Hills Country Day School for a 1-week inclusive camping experience. The smiling faces of 60 campers, volunteers and staff filled the site in Palos Verdes, where we played games and participated in enriching activities. Campers had an experience every child deserves and left with memories that will last well after the end of camp. Camp Escapades is one of the most memorable opportunities we can create for not only the kids we serve, but for our youth who volunteer. A camper’s activities or opportunities are never defined by a diagnosis, condition, or disability – these kids of all ages simply can just have fun here,” said Dr. JJ Levenstein, retired pediatrician, and Chair of Momentum’s Board of Directors. “This experience is an invaluable growth experience for our adult volunteers and the teens who return every summer to pair up with their buddy campers. An enthusiastic thanks and congratulations to Momentum PTN. Camp Escapades is the bomb – it explodes with joy, heart and love!”

Momentum Visits Oxnard Beach Park
Our Momentum Refresh vehicle continues to be out in our communities to bring accessibility and open opportunities for people with disabilities. Oxnard Beach Park is a beautiful area but lacks dignified restrooms. The Refresh Team was able to demonstrate how a mobile resource like the accessible restrooms can allow people of all abilities to experience what Southern California has to offer.

Torrance PD Provides Momentum PTN Active Shooter Training

The Torrance Police Department stopped by the Momentum PTN facilities to deliver our therapists with an Active Shooter Training. The training detailed the uptick of national shootings and the need to increase our awareness to keep our children and staff safe in case of emergencies. Torrance Police Department will continue to work with Momentum PTN as we update our emergency protocols moving forward.
