Campers and Volunteers Enjoy an Action-Packed Camp Escapades
We’re thrilled to share the incredible success of Camp Escapades 2023! Two weeks filled with non-stop fun and excitement culminated in an unforgettable experience for 120 enthusiastic kids. The joy and laughter echoed through every corner of the campgrounds, creating lasting memories that will be cherished for years to come.
Our dedicated camp facilitators worked tirelessly to ensure that each day brought fresh adventures and activities, keeping the young campers engaged and entertained throughout their journey. But that’s not all – our beloved community partners played a significant role in enhancing the camp experience. From the informative sessions by the Torrance Fire Department and Torrance Police Department to heartwarming interactions with LAX Pups, Steve’s Machines, and an array of other wonderful collaborators, our campers had the chance to discover and learn about the world around them in the most exciting ways.
A special shout-out to our devoted white-shirt volunteers who brought immense enthusiasm to the camp every single day. Their dedication to fostering connections and amplifying the fun truly elevated the overall experience for each camper.
The success of Camp Escapades wouldn’t be possible without the unwavering commitment of our physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and support staff. Months of meticulous planning and care went into crafting an environment where every child could thrive and create lasting memories.

Momentum Creative Artists Celebrate New Exhibit
We ended July with a perfect summer afternoon in Santa Monica. For the first time since the pandemic began, multiple programs came together to celebrate the latest Momentum Creative art exhibit, The Space Between Us. Dozens of dazzling pieces are now on display at Adrian’s Place Santa Monica, a long-time ally in the support of people’s artistic expression. The event was filled with heartfelt reunions of artists, as they shared stories of their art pieces and inspirations.
“Vibrant, striking, and diverse artwork envelops the walls and fills the space shared with us by our generous partners at Adrian’s Place who are also committed to extending accessibility and building community,” said Stephani Anderson, Vice President of Strategy and Innovation. “This exhibition will be on display through the end of August; the public is invited to pop in and discover the incredible art for sale and the multitude of services and resources that both Momentum and Adrian’s Place make available for all.”

Momentum Creative Artist Highlighted by American Furniture Company
American upscale home furnishing store chain Pottery Barn is highlighting the striking artwork of Eric Santamaria, a Momentum Creative artist who creates remarkable work with adaptive art tools. In an Instagram post to its 3.6 million followers, Pottery Barn shared Eric’s immense talents on an international stage. “Eric utilizes full body motion with adaptive art tools—such as brushes or pens—attached to the bottom of his wheelchair. The motion of rocking back and forth in his chair provides consistent, linear markings that distinguish his work. His art tells a story, illustrated in color and motion.”

Momentum Wheels for Humanity Announces New Project in Central & South America
Momentum Wheels for Humanity is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking new project that aims to transform the lives of millions of people in Central and South America! Funded by USAID in partnership with ATscale and managed by UNOPS, the project is set to create an enabling environment and clear direction for long-term investment in assistive technology (AT) for low- and middle-income countries.
Momentum Wheels for Humanity is leading activities in four countries—El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Peru.
According to the World Bank, the Latin America and Caribbean region is home to 85 million people with disabilities, and this number is expected to rise with an aging population and an increase in non-communicable diseases. You can learn more about the project and strategies of success here.
