Devon Stern Golf Tournament Registration Begins

Since its establishment in 1999, the Stern family golf tournament has been instrumental in raising over $1.5 million to support pediatric programs and services benefiting children with disabilities and medical conditions.

This remarkable event offers a splendid opportunity to align with Momentum and Momentum WORK, Inc., while indulging in an enjoyable round of golf alongside your esteemed colleagues, beloved family members, and cherished friends. On Sunday, July 16, we’ll be at the Los Robles Greens in Thousand Oaks for another amazing year. Learn more and sign up here.

Calling all Volunteers for Camp Escapades

Camp Escapades is considered one of the most popular youth volunteer activities in the South Bay. Many of our camp volunteers sign up year after year to participate in a rewarding and enjoyable opportunity to become a “white shirt,” who serves as a camper’s buddy during camp. Volunteers not only enjoy a meaningful experience that gives back to the community, but they also enjoy opportunities to build better leadership and social skills.

Why volunteer with us?

  • Be a big part of a child’s favorite summertime memory
  • Connect with awesome individuals and a supportive community
  • Gain a deeper understanding of children with developmental disabilities and the professions that support them
  • Fulfill your school or community group service hour requirements
  • Discover new passions as you gain new experiences
  • Make new friends and have fun!

We also offer volunteer opportunities for adults and companies looking to get involved. Reach out to us here.

Momentum Refresh Helps Impacted Writers

The Writer’s Guild of America supports writers with disabilities and it requested Momentum Refresh at the picket lines to make them more accessible for all the writers impacted by the strike. Our team ventured to the location in Culver City and offered meticulously maintained and fully accessible restroom facilities to all those involved. The photographs capture the scene outside Amazon Studios, where our services were concentrated.

Momentum Honors Nurses

We have a remarkable staff of nurses here at Momentum that includes eight RNs and 13 LVNs. Last week was National Nurses Week. We hope you’ll take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to them as they have gone above and beyond, especially during these challenging times. Their unwavering commitment, selflessness, and expertise make a world of difference. Read more about them here.

Highlighting Teacher Appreciation Week

During Teacher Appreciation Week, we are privileged to have a devoted group of educators who are the best and brightest, playing a vital role in shaping the future of the children who pass through our doors. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers in our programs. In a touching display of love and support, parents have sent in heartwarming videos. Please take a moment to watch the collection of these touching messages, as we celebrate here at Momentum.

National SLP Day Celebration

This week, our team also celebrated National Speech-Language Pathologist Day with six SLP graduate students from USC joining us. The speech program is poised for remarkable growth in the upcoming months. Speech plays a pivotal role in our comprehensive early intervention therapies, empowering children to become confident and effective communicators.

Momentum was one of 20 vendors. “It’s always nice when we can be in the community and get the word out about Momentum services,” Kimberlee said. Thank you for sharing the word about Momentum!
