What a wonderful time of the year. So far, we’ve seen community members give generously and thoughtfully. For every dollar donated, 86 cents goes directly to helping the people we support and the programs and resources they use. Thank you for your help! Please consider sharing our mission with family and friends. Let them know their donation is helping children and adults with disabilities and medical conditions. Meanwhile, our Refresh team made history at Jingle Ball, a concert featuring some fantastic musical artists. Plus, dinosaurs visited a few of our adult and pediatric locations — yes, dinosaurs! And we’re gathering together and making memories. Read on to learn more.
Momentum Refresh Marks Historic Moment
History was made last week at the Kia Forum as Jingle Ball, hosted by 102.7 KIIS-FM and iHeartRadio, became the first concert in the United States to be truly accessible for everyone. The mobile restroom onsite provided a dignified area for people to refresh themselves in order to get back to enjoying the amazing music, outside and inside the Kia Forum. Thanks to all who stopped by and made the event a success. Be sure to follow us on social media @MomentumRefresh to stay updated on where we travel next.
Dinosaurs Invade Momentum
Children and adults in both our pediatric and adult programs had a friendly encounter with Blue, the dinosaur. Dinosaurs in the Valley paid a visit to our locations in Torrance, Van Nuys and along Beach with a big animatronic suit and a roar to match. Kids and adults were delighted – a few found it a bit too real – and it’s part of the traveling exhibit in Woodland Hills. See more on their website here. The exhibit goes through December 18th.
Community Giving Back!
Children at our pediatric clinics received a fun and useful donation from our friends at National Charity League. Popsicle sticks were turned into conversation starters or questions a child can ask. Each jar of sticks provides speech and social therapy opportunities for every age. Thank you to NCL’s 17’s Charity Service Group of Hermosa/Manhattan Beach for the thoughtful and practical donation. What a cool concept!
Getting Into the Holiday Spirit
A number of Momentum locations are being decorated and staff are taking photos to share the holiday cheer and excitement as we end an amazing year of 2022.
