📚 Support our Books & Buddies Initiative 📚

Help us bring the magic of reading to little learners! Reading aloud to children from birth to age five is one of the most powerful ways to support brain development, language skills, and lifelong learning. That’s why we’re launching Books & Buddies, a special initiative to collect 200 books for children ages 0–36 months.

Program Highlight: Momentum’s Learning Leaders at UCLA

Momentum has been proudly partnering with UCLA through our Learning Leaders program, offering UCLA students hands-on, experiential learning with individuals from the disability community.

This Winter Quarter, Learning Leaders will once again collaborate with students in the course “Disability Justice & Health Care,” taught by Dr. Lauren Clark at the UCLA School of Nursing.

By sharing their lived experiences, our Learning Leaders help future healthcare professionals gain deeper insight into disability justice, interdependence, and inclusive care.

We’re grateful for this ongoing partnership and the powerful impact it continues to make.

Salsa & Smiles: Empowering Moments at the Farmers’ Market

Our Community Integration Program recently brought people we support to spend a joyful day at the local farmers’ market, where they explored fresh produce and connected with neighborhood vendors. The adventure continued back in the kitchen, where they turned their market finds into delicious homemade salsa.

These hands-on experiences offer more than just fun. They empower individuals to build confidence, strengthen life skills, and engage meaningfully with their community.

Meet Scott Ryker with Momentum WORK, Inc.

Scott Ryker has been part of our Mo’s To-Go catering program for over two years, gaining hands-on skills and confidence along the way. With that experience, he landed a job at SB Pho — and we’re thrilled to share he just celebrated his 1-year work anniversary there!
