USC Chan Continues Sensory Art Integration with Momentum |
The USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy (USC Chan) continues a faculty practice model at Momentum with our pediatric services. This unique partnership ensures that Momentum grows as a respected center of clinical excellence by leveraging the expertise and knowledge mobilization capabilities of USC Chan faculty members.
The theory behind Sensory Integration is that through completing tasks that have a high sensory involvement; the senses, body and mind will automatically form an interconnection and thus learn how to interpret the responses it receives from the activity.
Our sensory-integrated services continue to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families. Our faculty-practice model makes it the only pediatric clinic of its kind aligned with the number 1 ranked Occupation Therapy School in the country. See More

Since its establishment in 1998, Camp Escapades has been providing a summer camp experience for children with developmental disabilities who might not otherwise have the opportunity to do so. Our camp is staffed with occupational, physical, or speech therapists, program assistants, paraprofessional educators, and one-on-one teen volunteers who are the child’s “buddies” throughout the week. A valuable experience! My Place is an after school social skills program where teens develop social skills to use in the community. The group visited Dave And Busters and paired up to practice social skills, making purchases, taking turns at games all while being good sports. If you or anyone you know would benefit from joining My Place, an after-school program dedicated to bringing out the best in our children and teens please visit: this link.
